About Brian
Brian Corcoran - entertainer, storyteller, singer, musician. Brian was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. One of fifteen children, Brian was in high school when he made his first trip to Ireland. He was the first relation to return since his grandparents emigrated from Roscommon and Leitrim more than 50 years earlier. “Welcome home” were the first words he heard from all he met, and how right they were. Shortly afterwards, Brian and his brother John formed the singing group The Corcoran Brothers. They appeared in clubs and concerts throughout the United States, Canada, and Ireland.
Over the course of many years, Brian has performed on the same bill with some of Ireland’s greatest singers, entertainers and musicians: Tommy Makem, Eugene Byrne, Paddy Reilly, Liam Clancy, James Keane, Shay Healy, Anne Byrne, Michael “Jessie” Owens, Carmel Quinn, Seamus Kennedy, Tom Sweeney, Chris Henshaw, and The McTeggarts.
As a solo artist, Brian has appeared at festivals and in concerts throughout the United States and Ireland. When he’s not on tour he has entertained thousands of seniors throughout New England with his program, “Memories in Music” – a wonderful show with songs from the 40’s and 50’s. “I truly love doing this show. It has been one of the best experiences of my life.” www.memoriesinmusic.net
